The combination of darkness, projections, sounds, water and smoke, was enough to made this installation look like a science-fiction movie set.

But the moment visitors started to lie down on the floor under the luminous boxes, everything seemed ready for an alien autopsy.

When we arrived at dusk, the beach was so deserted and peaceful that it was hard for us to imagine the events that took place here 65 years before.

Every time we return home from the seaside during the Summer weekends, we are amazed by the way the sunset light plays with this international style facade and the water below.

Our plans to take pictures have always been postponed…

…until we thought that the building should have looked just as great in a clear Winter day.

And it was.

This glossy black box is where our Time Machine is located.

Only when removing the cap and extracting the cable, its function becomes evident.

Unfortunately the glossy surface, while resisting to scratches very well, attracts dust like a magnet.

When we casually found out that the Garabit viaduct was just a few kilometers away from our route and made a detour to see it from closer, we made jokes about how it was so dramatically high and wide that it could have been featured in The Cassandra Crossing.

The other night, while we were watching the movie for the thousandth time, we realized that the viaduct is indeed the Cassandra Crossing.

Strolling through Venice during the latest Biennale we came upon the gallery hosting the Slovenian Pavilion where a painting made with LEGO bricks was on display.

A natural landscape is rendered with standard 2×4 bricks–the archetypal of a LEGO brick–in four gray tones, plus a bright yellowish-green one.

After being dazzled by pictures posted in every architecture blog–and being inspired to create a font–we planned our last trip in France especially to visit this amazing public aquatic center in Le Havre.

Unfortunately it was not possible to take pictures of the wonderful interior, but we spent a whole afternoon enjoying the balnéo space, the internal and external pools, and the hidden toboggan.

The basic exterior, hiding completely the complexity of the interior, is clad with panels recalling a mosaic pattern, with scattered openings of different sizes.

The openings, apart from providing spectacular natural light inside the complex, offer abstract glances of the interior from the outside.

During the Estuaire event in Nantes the market hall in Place du Bouffray was turned into an aviary containing forty birds and five electric guitars.

The birds, disturbed by visitors wandering through the aviary, made the rest.
